How to support us

Supporting Box Hill School

We are very grateful to everyone who has made donations to Box Hill School over the years, and would like to encourage our wider community to support the continued development of the school for the benefit of future pupils.

WAYS TO SUPPORT BOX HILL SCHOOL - A SUMMARY

REGULAR GIFTS:
These can be made monthly, quarterly or annually for any number of years.  By making a donation in this way you provide Box Hill School with a regular income that enables us to plan ahead and use your donation more efficiently.

SINGLE GIFTS:
Donate by credit/debit card, by bank transfer or by cheque.  You can also donate  securely using the PayPal ‘Donate’ button below.

MATCHED GIFTS:
Many companies worldwide match the donations their employees make to charities.  Ask your HR department whether they would sponsor this scheme and increase your gift to us at no expense to yourself.

GIFT AID/CORPORATE TAX:
Box Hill School is able to reclaim the basic rate of tax (currently 20%) on your gift.  For a gift to be made by Gift Aid, you need to pay UK Income or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the amount that Box Hill School will reclaim on your donations in the tax year.  Higher rate taxpayers can reclaim the difference between the higher rate and the basic rate of tax on their annual return, whilst company donations may be offset against corporation tax, thus making charitable giving hugely tax-efficient.

GIVING SHARES:
You may be able to reduce significantly the amount of income tax and capital gains tax you pay if you choose to donate shares or securities to the Box Hill School Trust. Currently, this means that shares donated to Box Hill School attract income tax relief of 100% of their present market value.  Donors will be able to claim tax relief at their highest rate of tax, via their Self-Assessment form or Corporation Tax return.  In addition, the donated shares will not incur any capital gains liability.  We suggest you speak to your financial advisor for specific advice, or contact the Development Office for more information.
