Tutors are members of the academic teaching staff and support students' academic and pastoral development.

When a student joins Box Hill School they are assigned a personal tutor who is responsible for their day to day progress and welfare. They can call upon their tutor for advice and guidance, whether relating to their academic or social life.

The tutor is the first point of contact for pupils and their parents. Each tutor will contact the parents at the start of the academic year to introduce him or herself, in order to open a two way point of communication.

Tutors are house based and there are an average of 12 students per tutor group. The tutor is an integral part of the house team and the full team meets every Friday morning. Tutors are in houses to take registration, and there is a tutor period every Monday afternoon.
