Box Hill School is 50 years old in 2009!

To commemorate this anniversary we have put together a programme of events that we hope you will join us in to celebrate our Golden Jubilee.

The school was founded in 1959 and in addition to looking back fondly and celebrating the achievements of the past, and the remarkable growth and development over that time, we think it is also more than appropriate to introduce some new initiatives for the future.

Building on 50 years of successful education in Surrey

As the school grows and expands, we have enhancing our global outlook by introducing the International Baccalaureate into the Sixth Form – a bold strategic move, but one we felt was necessary as the national debate about A-Levels as being a 'true examination' continues.

We also want to make sure that Box Hill School is playing a full part in the local academic community and one of our most significant initiatives therefore is that we shall be offering a Jubilee Bursary to some children, in addition to our normal scholarship and bursary activities.

A modern, progressive curriculum and an ever increasing number of students mean we must continue to invest in the campus infrastructure, and that is what we are doing. We have just completed the building of our brand new, purpose built Music School, which was opened by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh on 12th November.

We have taken the opportunity presented by our Jubilee to fundraise for both ongoing structural works and for our Jubilee Bursaries. We would be grateful for any help that you could provide; further information as to how you can become involved and donate to the Jubilee Appeal is available here
