Our Programmes

At Box Hill School we offer our sixth form students the choice of two academic programmes. They can study for A Levels or for the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB).

We are proud to offer both programmes to give our students the choice and opportunity to follow either a specialised programme of study or a broader, less specific course for those who may be undecided about their future choices for university or employment. Both are academically rigorous and highly regarded by universities in the UK and worldwide.

Sixth Form Centre

Our Sixth Form Centre offers students a dedicated space that fosters independence and supports their academic journey. With its own separate entrance, the Centre provides a distinctive environment for older students, allowing them to flourish away from the younger year groups.

Key features:

  • Social Spaces: Designed for collaboration and relaxation, our social areas encourage students to connect and engage with peers.
  • Study Facilities: Equipped with modern study spaces, students can focus and thrive in their academic pursuits.
  • Learning Resource Suite: Our resource suite offers a wealth of materials to support research and learning.
  • Classrooms: Designed for interactive and engaging lessons, our classrooms cater to diverse learning styles.

The Centre also houses the offices of the IB Co-ordinator, Head of Sixth Form, and Head of Careers, ensuring that expert guidance and support are readily available. Our dedicated staff is committed to empowering students as they prepare for their future pathways.

Join us in creating a vibrant community where Sixth Form students can excel academically and personally!

Leadership Opportunities for Sixth Form Students

At our school, Sixth Form students play a vital role in shaping the school culture and environment. We offer a diverse range of leadership opportunities designed to empower students and enhance their skills.

You could take on the role of Head of School, serve as a Syndicate leader, lead as a Sports Captain, or oversee one of our many clubs and societies. Additionally, becoming a mentor to younger pupils is a fulfilling way to give back to the community.

Comprehensive training is provided for the Prefect Team and mentoring roles, ensuring our Sixth Formers feel equipped and confident in their responsibilities. Many students find this experience not only rewarding but also instrumental in developing their leadership capabilities. Embrace the chance to make a difference and lead by example in our vibrant school community!
