Boarding

Box Hill Boarding offers a unique home-from-home experience as students are welcomed into a supportive, nurturing community that echoes the atmosphere of a large, happy family. Boarding at Box Hill is a unique and rewarding experience, where students can gain independence, discover different cultures, and make lifelong friendships.

FULL BOARDING

Our full boarding students stay at the school full time during term time in a home-from home environment. They are under the supervision and care of our dedicated House Parents with around the clock access to our amazing facilities and co-curricular opportunities, boarders trips and plenty of time for studying. During school holidays students have the choice of returning home to their families, staying with Guardians or staying at school to join our residential holiday programmes.

WEEKLY BOARDING

Our weekly boarding students can enjoy everything that full boarding has to offer; the home from home environment, care and supervision of our qualified House Parents, access to the plethora of co-curricular opportunities and facilities on offer at the school as well as supervised study and spending time with friends. Then their weekends are kept free to go home on a Friday evening to spend time with family or participate in outside clubs and interests.

FLEXI BOARDING

Flexi-boarding proves to be popular with parents with a busy working life, parents who may work away or if pupils take part in additional extra-curricular activities in the evening. It’s also a good opportunity if you want to experience what boarding is like and whether it suits your family. Our House Parent staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can feel confident that your child is supported and in safe hands. With our flexi-boarding, you can choose which nights of the week you would like to board (minimum of 2 nights each week) and pre-book these in advance at the start of each term.

OUR HOUSES

Each house has dedicated residential House Parents, who are experienced and expertly versed in the needs of the children in their care and will be on hand to support their borders at all times, whether that be to comfort them if they are ill, celebrate academic success, or provide advice and guidance. We currently have six main houses, where students are placed according to age and gender.

AN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

We are extremely proud of our internationalism and aim for one-third of our school to be from the international community (not mother tongue English). We believe this promotes peace and understanding, as well as broadening student’s discovery and understanding of different cultures. Boarding is integral to this idea of internationalism and we welcome overseas students. So far we have boarders from over 35 different countries!
