TEACHING ASSISTANT (SPORTS AND BOARDING)

We are looking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant (Sports and Boarding)
Required: as soon as possible

Box Hill School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, full time Teaching Assistant.  The right candidate will be able to teach a range of abilities and have a clear vision of how to maximise achievement in our students and ensure that learning is an enriching and challenging experience for all.

This is a fantastic opportunity for post-graduates or sixth form leavers who are looking for a career in teaching or seeking a useful experience before starting university. The school has lots to offer and there are plenty of opportunities for outings and expeditions. Gap students will be involved in taking sports teams/coaching as well as accompanying expeditions. You will help with boarders trips, recent trips have been to the theatre, go-karting, the Shard and shopping on Oxford Street, London. We aim to appoint colleagues who will involve themselves whole-heartedly within our community and who see teaching as a way of life, not just a job.

Teacher of Mathematics
Required: September 2022

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the upcoming retirement of the longest serving member of the Maths Department at Box Hill School.  We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join our successful Mathematics Department, applications from Newly Qualified Teachers are welcome.  The ideal applicant will be able to offer A level as well as Further Mathematics A level. We follow the Edexcel scheme for both the A level and Further Mathematics.  The successful candidate will be involved in the extensive extra-curricular life at our busy Boarding and day school. We aim to appoint colleagues who will involve themselves whole-heartedly within our community and who see teaching as a way of life, not just a job.

TEACHER OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

Teacher of Computer Science
Required: September 2022

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join our successful Computer Science Department, applications from Newly Qualified Teachers are welcome.  The successful applicant will have strong subject knowledge of the theory of Computer Science while at the same time be comfortable teaching programming skills from novice level all the way up to A Level in preparation for online coding papers that have been introduced into this year’s specification.

Contract type: Part time

OPERATIONAL TEAM SUPERVISOR

We are looking to recruit a full time Operational Team Supervisor
Required: as soon as possible

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year 

An opportunity exists for an experienced supervisor to join our Operational Support Team, assisting the Head of Operations. The primary role is to provide an efficient service to ensure that the needs of a busy boarding school are met.

The Operational Support Team are crucial in delivering logistical requirements such as school events, laundry and post management. They are also responsible for housekeeping, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained across the school, including classrooms, offices and boarding houses. This role will involve some caretaking duties and some housekeeping duties.

Package includes a competitive salary, accommodation on the school campus, meals in the school dining room, use of the pool and gym, cycle to work scheme, workplace pension scheme and staff parking.

Contract term: Permanent

PASTORAL TEAM ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are looking to recruit a part time Pastoral Team Administrative Assistant
28 hours per week term time plus 1 week during school holidays

The school is looking to appoint a Pastoral Team Administrative Assistant with some key responsibilities including organising internal Safeguarding training of staff and ensuring all staff are compliant with safeguarding training.  The successful candidate will be friendly, approachable, have an eye for detail, with excellent communication skills.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

We are looking to appoint a part time Learning Support Assistant to work within our school’s small and friendly Learning Support department with direction from the Head of Learning Support, (SENCO).

TEACHER OF GERMAN

Teacher of German (Part Time post) required for January 2023

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified Teacher of German from September 2022. The right candidate will be able to teach German to native speakers, on the IB Diploma programme where it is taught as an A Language. The opportunity to teach a small group at GCSE also exists.

EXAMINATION INVIGILATOR

Examination Invigilator required for September 2022

We are looking to recruit an Examination Invigilator to conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) awarding body and Box Hill School regulations and instructions

Reporting to the Examination Officer the successful candidate will be reliable, flexible and readily available during main exam periods, with effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills

The safeguarding responsibilities for this post include continued updated training relating to child protection and safeguarding for staff working in regulated activity.
